BidMachine

Configure BidMachine Android bidding and Source ID mapping in CloudX.

Overview

The BidMachine Source ID identifies your app to the BidMachine SDK. Enter it in CloudX’s app-level BidMachine Source ID field, not in your app code or as a CloudX ad unit ID.

The Android adapter supports:

  • Banner (320x50)
  • MREC (300x250)
  • Interstitial (display and video)
  • Rewarded

Native and App Open are not supported. Requires CloudX Android SDK 4.9.0 or newer. For BidMachine, we recommend CloudX Android SDK 4.12.0 or newer.

Step 1. Obtain your Source ID

Obtain the BidMachine Source ID for your app from BidMachine. Use your app’s production Source ID.

Step 2. Enable BidMachine in CloudX

Go to Bidders, select BidMachine, and click Enable.

Select the app you want to configure and enter its Source ID:

No BidMachine Placement ID is required for ad units. Use CloudX ad unit identifiers in your app code.

Step 3. Add line items

Go to Line Items and create a line item for bidder BidMachine on each CloudX ad unit where it should compete. Match the line item to a supported ad format.

Step 4. Install the adapter

Follow the Android adapter guide or the Unity adapter guide for Android. Both include the required BidMachine Maven repository; Maven Central alone cannot resolve the BidMachine SDK.

For React Native or Flutter Android builds, see the React Native or Flutter integration guide.

Initialize CloudX with your CloudX app key and load ads with CloudX ad unit identifiers. CloudX initializes BidMachine using the Source ID configured in the dashboard; no separate BidMachine initialization is needed in app code.

Step 5. Test and validate

  1. Register your device as a CloudX test device and turn on Test traffic for the app.
  2. Build and run your Android app with the adapter installed.
  3. Request an ad from each configured ad unit, then open Dev Tools → Auction Archive. Open each auction and check that Bidder calls include BidMachine.

BidMachine may not bid on test traffic; that alone does not mean the setup is broken.

Troubleshooting

  • BidMachine is missing from Bidders: request beta access from your CloudX account manager.
  • BidMachine does not bid: check that it is enabled, the app has the correct Source ID, and a BidMachine line item exists for the ad unit. Without a Source ID, CloudX does not initialize BidMachine.
  • Unresolved BidMachine dependency: add the Maven repository and all four dependency groups shown in the Android adapter guide.
